Just wait until the chimps get brain implants. I think within our lifetime, we will see enhanced chimps engaging in all sorts of human-level activities and learning. It's obvious even now that they have a form of proto-human intelligence, and that we are far less different from them than many people would like to think.
This reminds me of that Matthew Broderick movie, "Project X," where they were teaching chimps to fly fighter jets using video simulators.
I'd be slightly more impressed if the chimp could play the game without the human handler pointing out places on the screen every two minutes, but even given that, it still plays better than my mother.
We'll have to revise our estimate of chimp intellegence. Instead of equating them to humans age five, we now must see that they are closer to pre-teen humans. In fact, if they don't want to play video games, they might exceed the average teenager with a Gameboy.

Hell, if Americans can vote one into the White House - twice - anything is possible.

I don't buy it. The chimp is clearly playing Ms. Pac-man, which everyone knows is much, much easier that the original. ; )
BAH! I wont be impressed until Chimps start wearing suits, smoking pipes, skating on rollerskates, and working at NASA.
Oh wait, they already do!!!!
Simpsons moment:
Scientist: Maybe we should tell them that all the chimps came back super intelligent?
Chimp in a suit: (with British accent) No, I dont think we'll be telling them that!
#Chimp skates away...
