Please note the festive addition to our blog subtitle. A little message for the Christian assholes who are trying to steal yet another Pagan/secular holiday.

They aren't trying to steal saturnalia. They are trying to steal the whole month of December.
Why? To force Walmart to sell their stuff with the name of their god.
There is an interesting article on this topic here. I have never heard of the professor who wrote it, but it is an interesting read.
This article seems to rely on flimsy evidence. Basically, their evidence is that Christians were concerned about the birth date of Jesus - which not only does not prove anything, but also goes against Christian tradition, which celebrates the date of death, not the date of birth.
Besides, Free Republic is a right-wing rag, so I don't trust anything they way.
