Witnessing Nonbelief

Check out the newest Hellbound Alleee show, we've had an entire two hours to discuss about how to effectively evangelize to Christianity's emotional appeals, me, Alleee and Aaron.

The first half-hour was a discussion of my three-step approach to answering Christian justifications, which is :

Step 1. Identifying if a reason given to justify belief is a real emotional reason - a "core" reason - or a rationalization.
Step 2. Showing - not arguing - the Christian why his emotional reason is wrong or immoral.
Step 3. Showing - not arguing - the Christian why atheism is the superior alternative (because of moral responsibility, the power of science, moral autonomy, having purpose, and so on)

Other methods we discussed included testifying from your own life, and using what I call the "sandpaper effect" - in short, demonstrating that the Christian is using his moral autonomy even if he ignores that fact.

The rest of the show, one and a half hour, was devoted to eight cases, which we discussed in detail. It was a great show, and we discussed a lot of cases, and Aaron did a great job, so did Alleee. I invite all of you to check it out.

I just placed Goose, Kill, and Hellbound Alleee blogs on the listings at Atheism Online.

Any other atheist blog writers should do the same for their blogs. That website is going to become a good hub/source for atheist sites and blogs. :)

Yep, I think it will too Aaron =)

And I didn't know that you all had your own show. I look forward to checking it out as soon as I get home from work!

I'll have to listen to that program. I'm starting to work on my wife's family, and I'll need some new techniques. I've already gotten to her sister. The girl was going to an evangelical church just six weeks ago. This afternoon, I got her to admit that there's no god.

YES! "i am!" Way to goooo! Mwwwaaaahahhaha! Maybe next you can get her to admit it's not wrong to torture little Children, unless you subjectively say it is! Hahaha! Let's turn all the Christians.

We'll talk a bit about family members on the next part. We'll also get into more cases. So I can't wait.

"Maybe next you can get her to admit it's not wrong to torture little Children, unless you subjectively say it is! "

Anonymous coward, the only ideology that says it's not wrong to torture little children unless you subjectively say it is, is Christianity. The only way you could get out of it was by declaring an "age of accountability", which was based on absolutely nothing. Christianity is disgusting.

Good job, I am!

Ive deconverted a small handful of people over the years, and it feels good to help people lose these ridiculous superstitions. Especially when its family members and other people close to you. Its like helping someone find their self esteem AND see reality clearly all at the same time.

Franc's comments on this were correct. Where does the bible prohibit torturing anyone? It nowhere prohibits slavery or the initiation of the use of force. (Coward might say it's a matter of linguistics!) Given Christianity's complete lack of rational principles, anyone taking it seriously would have to borrow from a non-Christian worldview in order to have any principle protecting human life and human values.

Listen to the mighty Jason Gastrich get utterly pulverized by Doug Krueger in this audio broadcast. Kruger brings out so many points regarding this, and Gastrich is just overwhelmed.
